Wedding Story: Michael and Madeline Barbalace
Michael and Madeline tied the knot at Honey’s Harvest Farm on Saturday October 8, 2022.
They wanted a fall wedding, but their search for the perfect venue felt like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Madeline jubilantly shares, “As soon as we saw [the Barn at Honey’s Harvest Farm] I was like, ‘This is it!’ Everywhere else was just too cookie cutter.”
Honey’s provided an authentic yet sophisticated restored tobacco barn with a wedding ceremony backdrop of lush farm field vistas. The couple incorporated their beloved golden retriever, Pierogi, into the ceremony, which worked perfectly at the farm. Pierogi visited Honey’s several times before the wedding so he could get used to the setting.
Madeline says their wedding was “electric, fun, fast, great food. Everyone loved the venue. The band was incredible.” They were grateful to have enlisted the expertise of a wedding planner and full-service catering from Herrington on the Bay, the farm’s sister company. Michael notes, “A percentage (of the food and beverage) had to be sourced from Honey’s Harvest, or at least locally, which was cool because we’re both into sustainability and supporting small, local businesses. We were able to make some signature cocktails with some of the fruit that was grown on the farm and incorporate some of the other crops into the food as well.” The customization provided by Herrington & Honey’s created unique and fun memories that will last a lifetime.
As wedding favors, the couple gave cozy blankets–a perfect seasonal gift for an October wedding in Maryland. Michael recalls, “Honey’s Harvest encapsulated everything we were looking for in a fall wedding.”
