Wedding Story: Dave & Courtney Rowe

What do you do when you’re getting married in Maryland and aren’t interested in a church wedding or a beach wedding? You have a barn wedding!

At least, that is what Dave and Courtney Rowe did. Before they were even engaged, they had the date (October 1) and the venue (Honey’s Harvest Farm) picked out.

Dave and Courtney met on a dating website in April 2021. On the day of their first in-person date, Courtney had a migraine, so Dave graciously hung out and watched movies at Courtney’s place! He never left. Two weeks later, Dave recalled, Courtney asked him, “Why don’t you go get the rest of your stuff and move in?”

By June, they knew they wanted to get married. “It went fast,” said Courtney, “But you kind of know when you know.”

“My Grandmother passed away when I was a junior in high school,” she continued. “And the only thing I ever wanted was her engagement ring. Well, it was kept for me. So [Dave] took my mom out to dinner and asked if he could marry me and she gave him the ring.”

Knowing their preference for a rustic wedding, Courtney’s mom suggested they look into The Barn at Honey’s Harvest Farm. So, on Fourth of July weekend, they visited and immediately decided that it was the perfect spot for them. “The atmosphere was just amazing,” said Courtney.

Sixteen months after their first meeting, they tied the knot at Honey’s Harvest Farm, catered by Herrington on the Bay.

“Everybody at Herrington was amazing,” said Courtney. “They didn’t treat us like we were another customer. We felt like they became our family during the whole process. It was everything we had imagined and more. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding.”

Looking back on their time together, Courtney said, “I’m not gonna lie, the last three years haven’t been easy, but the relationship is one hundred percent perfect. If you want it, you’re going to make it happen.”
