Beginner Fermentation Class, Saturday February 22

Join Oksana Bocharova at Honey’s Harvest Farm for an introduction and beginners’ guide to the how’s, why’s, and what’s of the traditional fermentation process.
Here are some of the topics we’ll cover:
The origin and principles behind fermentation.
The importance of probiotics in lacto-fermented foods.
Examples of and ideas for whole food ferments.
Oksana will demonstrate the process and techniques she uses to create her delicious ferments and we will get to sample her products. Participants will take home a jar of fermenting vegetable goodness to observe as it ferments, as well as a finished fermented product as a gift to enjoy at home – not to mention the knowledge and confidence to experiment further!
This is a hands-on course – be prepared to chop vegetables and have fun!
